RyTime! Geekcast is back at a new time this semester!

The RyTime! Geekcast is moving it’s show to Thursdays from 11am to 1pm to better accommodate their listeners! You can listen while you’re at work or lunch by clicking the play button on the right side of the home page.

This semester they will be geeking out over a variety of things and will also be doing reviews and discussions of a different movie each week.

If you can’t catch the show live, you can subscribe to their FREE podcast feed on iTunes or stream each episode right on their Facebook fan page.

The RyTime! Geekcast is a talk show hosted on K-UTE by Ryan Bennett, indie author Cindy C Bennett, and Calvin Kern. They discuss many things in the entartainment world including movies, music, video games, comics, TV, and much much more. The show covers geeky topics, but never gets so geeky that a casual listener wouldn’t know what they were talking about.

Holiday Bash Report

Hello all!

I just for back from the Salt Lake Head Start offices where we delivered the proceeds from our Holiday Bash! Wanda and the team were so gracious and said they would keep KUTE in mind for other charity events they have throughout the year. Even after having to move the location of the concert last-minute, we were still able to raise $146.00 as well as toys, games, books and school supplies for the head start children.

It was such a special experience!

This holiday season, we are teaming up with The College of Humanities to provide toys, books and school supplies for OPERATION: CHIMNEY DROP for the Salt Lake Head Start program!

REVIEW: This was such an awesome event!!! The bands were amazing and the host hilarious! We were able to raise $146.00 for Operation: Chimney Drop along with lots of toys, games, books and school supplies. Go check out these bands and keep up with all K-UTE updates on our Facebook page.

Petitions out for increased education funding

Students might be asked to sign a petition to convince the State Legislature of the importance of higher education funding.

The petition cards come from Education First, a political action committee that works to increase education funding in Utah.

“By 2020, two-thirds of all jobs in Utah will require post-secondary certificates or degrees,” according to Education First’s website. “Utah must provide access to higher education for all qualified students.”

Hosted by the Eccles Health Sciences Library from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., the fair focused on interprofessional education and providing up to date information on health sciences.

“The future is indeed going to be a team-based approach to the delivery of health care,” said panelist Jay Graves, dean of the College of Health.

Grave focused on what health care reform might mean for educators, citing development of certificates in his college for interdisciplinary training—such as combining health sciences with sports medicine…
